Egyptian Faience Poster
In 2015 we were lucky enough to work with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York on a special project in conjunction with their exhibition "Ancient Egypt Transformed: The Middle Kingdom." We designed a suite of Egyptology prints, cards, and other good things that at that time were only available at The Met or through their online shop.
Fast track ten years (!) and we discovered a very limited amount of these special screen prints, that with the blessings of the Met we've now made available through our website or in person at our Granville Island studio.
Egyptian Faience is a glazed, ceramic material made of ground quartz. Blue, the colour of the Nile River, represented life for the Ancient Egyptians. Objects made in this colour were believed the magically hold and transfer life. See more from the Met's collection here.
Egyptian Faience is a 2-colour, 50 x 40 cm (19.69 x 15.75 inches) screen print on white 250 gram Rising Stonehenge paper. Printed in Canada. Inks are the turquoise blue of faience with black.
Unframed, this item will be shipped rolled in a sturdy mailing tube. Ships regular mail.
