About Us

Banquet Workshop founders Sarah Edmunds and Tammy Lawrence stand in front of a salon-style wall of their signed art prints in their Vancouver, BC studio.

Banquet Atelier & Workshop Ltd. is a Vancouver-based studio using two overactive imaginations to create beauty and magic. Partners Sarah Edmonds and Tammy Lawrence are currently loving and inspired by Jeremy Dutcher and the Kehkimin Wolastoqey Language Immersion School, filling our garden with rare perennials and starting excessive amounts of seeds, walking in the woods (because becoming runners didn’t work out), Echinacea pallida “Hula Dancer,”  the paintings of Alma Thomas, knitting Fairisle in bright colours, hanging with our ladies and our children, stacks of books and visits to the library. Our products are produced locally wherever possible and always with an eye to affordability, environmental sustainability, and our own distinct sense of colour, line and pattern.

We have licensed our work and collaborated with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Terrain, Anthropologie, Land of Nod and others to create exclusive product and designs.

We are proud monthly donors of hardworking organisations locally and abroad. A percentage of all we produce and sell is donated to these incredible organisations doing such hard work. We appreciate all the effort they make to bring solace to those in turmoil. Organisations include Urban Native Youth Association who provide support and  opportunities to Native Youth living here in our neighbourhood in East Vancouver. Doctors Without Borders an organization that provides emergency medical care to people affected by wars, disasters and epidemics. And  World Central Kitchen an international aid group that seeks to fill the need of healthy and sustaining food during humanitarian crises. We also donate products for local auctions and organisations including The Cultch (a local theatre space), Survived & Punished (a New York Mutual Aid Organistion for incarcerated survivors of gender based violence) and our local schools and other local organisations.

We LOVE what we do!
